Security and Technology in 2023

Security and Technology in 2023

TDSi has big plans for 2023! We have seen a welcome return to form in the security industry across many regions in 2022 and the signs are that 2023 will be another prominent year of growth, despite the global economic and supply chain issues that continue to complicate matters.

A phrase that seems to be cropping up more and more when looking at the year ahead is ‘Doing more with less’ which is often the mantra when the economic climate becomes more challenging. Luckily, this is one of the cornerstones of integrated security technology, and I think the industry as a whole is well geared up to helping end users achieve this through their security systems investments.

Security industry trends for 2023

Security trends are not always universal and in fact one of the benefits of being a truly international provider, is that TDSi gets to see how regional differences make up the broader picture across the global industry. For example, when I attended ISC East 2022 I was surprised that there was less talk about being cybersecurity prepared in the US than there is in Europe. Conversely, in the US there was more talk about OSDP (Open Supervised Device Protocol) technology and its integration capabilities, and noticeably more companies involved in security or video solutions as-a-service through the cloud.

For 2023, I can see more cross-pollination of ideas and trends between different regions. We will see the awareness of cybersecurity in Europe (where it is well embedded in the psyche of the physical security industry) start to influence North America, whilst the cloud-based approach there will have an influence in the reverse direction.

There are also signs that there will be even greater opportunities for interoperability and completely open systems, with business solutions that have security firmly integrated in them. Its very clear that all applications of technology are getting closer to one another and 2023 will see this intensify further.

Expanding TDSi’s exports

We have been preparing the groundwork for our major push in the United States and 2023 is when this will all come together. We have just received our first project in the US, which will commence in 2023 and we are looking forward to establishing our operations with our VITAPROTECH Group sister-company PROTECH USA in Reno, Nevada. We are looking forward to increasing local reserves of stock, putting further people in place, and further building our presence in North America.

We have a strong focus on Southeast Asia and the Middle East in 2023 as well, export markets that are going to be growing for us. Phil Tennent joined TDSi in 2022 as our International Business Development Director and he is firmly poised to take on some very impressive targets for growth in 2023.

On the road again in 2023

TDSi also has a comprehensive schedule of trade event appearances and attendances in 2023. We have seen a very welcome return to widescale face-to-face meetings in 2022 and this will shape 2023 as well. We start the year with Intersec in Dubai in January (17th-19th January 2023), a perennial favourite with the security industry and a great way to kick off the events calendar.

We are also very excited to be appearing again at ISC West in Las Vegas, USA, which takes place from 29th-31st March. We will also be proudly exhibiting at The Security Event 2023, which takes place from 25th-27th April at the NEC Birmingham – an event which attracts an impressive cross-section of the UK security industry.

Additionally,  we will be appearing at the Security TWENTY Special at Twickenham Stadium in London (22nd-23rd March), and the Security TWENTY 23 at Old Trafford Stadium, Manchester on 6th July.

Continued TDSi growth

We will continue to grow our team in 2023, including our Sales Team and Technical Support teams. As we continue to make a big impact within the VITAPROTECH Group but are also very thankful to have the support of the group, which has significantly raised our level of ambition. We are planning and achieving things we would like to have done when we were on our own but didn’t have the means to do so. The edict now is to go for it, which we are! Watch this space in 2023.
